The story follows Amahl, a young boy who uses a crutch to walk. He and his widowed mother are visited by the three kings on their way to find the Christ child. During the visit, another selfless gift is given and a miracle realized, reminding audiences of the meaning of Christmas. The opera will bring the spirit of the holidays to life with a 30-member orchestra and the region’s Way Way Off-Broadway Theatre Company, as well as volunteers from the Roswell Symphony Chorus, Roswell High School Choir, the New Mexico Military Institute Choir and dancers from Studio+ in Roswell. The performance will feature props and costumes.
